Last week we reviewed the FaithGirlz Bible — a version of NIV Bible specially annotated for tween girls between 8 -12. Today, we look at its companion volume, a Bible designed with young boys in mind and, appropriately enough, called The NIV Boys Bible.
It contains a number of unique features designed to draw young boys into the word of God such as:
Introductions to each book. At first glance, the Bible can seem intimidating. There are books like Genesis and Exodus with familiar stories of creation, etc. And then there are those other books like Leviticus and Numbers, Samuel has the story of David and Goliath, but what about Kings and Chronicles? A little explanation goes a long way.
Highlighted Memory Verses are gems set apart in boxes for study and memorization.
What’s the Big Deal looks at the story within the story and emphasizes its importance.
Check it Out is chock full of fun facts.
The Grossology is sure to appeal to a young boy’s love of all things gross.
Makin’ it Real shows the practical application and consequences in their everyday lives.
Arm a youngster in your life with the Boy’s Bible, and you may find he surprises you at how readily he rows in Biblical knowledge. Highly Recommended.
We thank B&B Media and Zondervan Publishing for providing us with a review copy in exchange for an honest review.
